Goodnight My Pebble

These three pictures were taken this morning and the smiles aren’t as strong as they might normally be.

At 1208 today Leffe went to sleep for the last time.

Last week we took him to the vets as he had been experiencing random pains and they referred him for a CT scan. On Friday Colleen received a call that changed our world forever. Leffe had a very aggressive cancer in his spine at the neck and they would not operate or use chemotherapy due to its location.

Over the weekend Leffe very quickly went downhill and watching him in pain whilst on strong painkillers was something we knew was not fair and couldn’t keep putting him through.

Some people might say “but he’s just a dog”

Colleen and I have not been blessed with children having had two angel babies. When I say Leffe was like a son to me I mean that in every respect.

I have always called him My Pebble because when Colleen who is My Rock isn’t here he was the one who supported me. I am not a person who has any friends who I see or talk to everyday as being my friend is a huge challenge with my C-PTSD demons. Leffe and Colleen are the only ones there for me 24/7 and I have lost one of those best friends today.

I was already a broken man but at this very moment I am dead inside as a huge part of me went to sleep with Leffe today and one of the reasons I even get out of bed has gone.

I am thankful Colleen is still here by my side, as I am beside hers but if you don’t hear from me I hope you can understand that Leffe was a source of positivity and energy that helped me to see any good in this world.

I’m not sure if or when I will return to blogging but for now I will be stepping away from it and the social media accounts.

Leffe I love you more than most humans and will miss but also remember you forever, thankyou for being my Pebble and helping me to live each day you gave me the best 8 years and I just hope we gave you the same xx 🐾 ♥️
